⚠️ WARNING Volume and chapter counts are only added when the work is completed or confirmed complete. If the work is still publishing, both remain blank.

To determine the final chapter count of a work, one should first assess the type of work they are dealing with:

⚠️ WARNING One-Shots should have the chapter count as one and the volume count left blank.

⚠️ WARNING Special pages for things such as advertising volume releases or author comments (i.e. afterword) do not count as chapters. Afterwords are usually referred to as あとがき(Atogaki) in the table of contents.

The count does include things such as ‘side’ chapters (Example: Chapter 5.5), bonus chapters, and some prologues and epilogues.

💡 TIP Bonus chapters are often referred to as 番外編 (Bangaihen), 書き下ろし (Kakioroshi) and おまけ (omake) in the table of contents.

💡 TIP In the case of there being extra chapters outside of the main chapter count, a note should be created at the bottom of the description mentioning how many there are, and they should all be labeled extra chapters regardless of whether they were bonuses, side chapters, etc.
These notes should always be written in italic.
